After some research on the Suburban versus the GMC Yukon XL, we decided to go with a 2007 Suburban. I comes with OnStar, which is a communications, monitoring, and tracking service. This is a pretty cool service.
This week, I received an email that shows me the status of my Suburban components — Tire Pressure, Engine, Air Bags, etc. That is pretty cool. This really satisfies the “Don’t Make Me Think” policy that I really value. Even more than monitoring, if my wife (who is the primary driver of the car) ever gets in an accident or accidentally locks herself out of the suburban, she can simply call the OnStar phone number and OnStar will remotely open the car door or get someone onsite to help immediately. That’s pretty cool. That kind of peace of mind is valuable to me, knowing that my wife and kids are safe and help can get to them quickly and reliably.
Below is a picture of the OnStar diagnostics email:

Shame on you for buying such a gus guzzling, polluting vehicle. Besides, such large vehicles clog the roads and parking spaces and increase accident risks by blocking visibility. One only needs to look out on the smog over Salt Lake every day and realize Utah citizens are destroying their own environment. There are alternative vehicles that are more eco friendly.
@John,
I empathize with you. But, I have 6 children, so we needed a car with at least 8 seatbelts. I totally agree with the ethos of your comment, but I chose to have a large family, which requires a large vehicle to accompany that choice.
