i remember meeting al drake a few years ago when he came to visit charlie while she interned at amazon.com. i remember him to be a genuinely nice person, who was not the least bit intimidating when it came to operations research, but instead humble and helpful, which is a big deal given al’s credentials in the area of operations management and operations research.
